The Parish Ministries Council assists the pastor and pastoral staff in setting policy to direct the resources of the parish in providing an environment that will foster the spiritual and educational growth of parishioners and ensure broad participation and accountability in the parish.
Purpose
We are a Council of Ministries, sharing with the pastor the responsibility for establishing goals and objectives for the spiritual, social, liturgical, educational and financial development of the parish. The Council acts, in communion with the pastor and the pastoral staff, as a consulting body. Acting as representatives of the parish-at large, the OMOS Parish Council discerns the needs and desires of the parishioners.
Our Parish Ministries Council, as a ministries council, oversees all the ministries of the parish through seven distinct commissions. The commissions are: Christian Education Formation, OMOS Parish School Board, Christian Life, Liturgy & Worship, Hispanic Ministry Affairs, Human & Financial Resources, and Building & Maintenance.
Membership & Meetings
The Council consists of twelve representatives chosen to represent a cross-section of the parish and appointed after a discernment process, guided by prayer. Members hold office for four years.
The Parish Ministries Council meets at 9:15 am on the third Saturday of every other month, August through May.
