Congratulations,
OMOS Teen Leaders!
The
Annual Pope John Paul II Youth Recognition Award is designed to recognize those
teens that have made significant contributions to parish/school life by
demonstrating leadership qualities and extraordinary commitment over a period of
time. Three teens from OMOS were selected and received JPII Awards from Bishop
Kicanas at a banquet and celebration that was held April 5th at St. Frances de
Sales.
Awards went to:
Sarah Tanberg, for serving as an outstanding peer leader in Catechesis
and Evangelization; Christopher Delgado, for his dedication to Community Service
and Social Justice; and Jeremy Covell for sharing his gifts in Prayer and
Worship as a Lector.
Each received
a special bronze medallion with the likeness of John Paul II.
The teens will be presented their certificates at the 6PM Mass on Sunday,
April 13th.
OMOS Teens on a
Mission:
(Alive In You Workcamp –
New Orleans)
On
behalf of OMOS Lifeteen and all participants in the upcoming Summer Workcamp in
New Orleans, I'd like to give a special thanks to all who
helped make the Pancake Breakfast such a success!
To Knights of Columbus Council 5133:
For coming to us and offering to partner with us in the event; for doing all the
shopping, cooking, and a lot of promotion!
Also, a special thank you for
John Brown who facilitated, planned,
and made the event happen!
To the Ladies'
Auxiliary: For donating the food items and helping us make a great profit!
To the OMOS
community: for supporting us with your donations, your prayers, and your
kind words!!
Thanks to this team-work, we realized a profit of close to $1000!
Please keep praying – we're about 2/3 of the way there – getting closer with
each fundraising event!!
